Christmas 2013

This Christmas was amazing just like all the others. This year however, was probably the first year Colton has really been into it. He asked a million questions and was so excited about Santa coming. He even tracked him on Dan's iPhone on Christmas Eve. He of course was spoiled rotten at all 4 Christmas celebrations we had. His sister who isn't even here yet was even spoiled. Thank you to all of our family who always takes care of us!

Here are some pictures from Christmas this year:

The big brother

Our world, as well as Colton's is about to change! I truly think Colton will be a great big brother. He seems excited.....for now! He seems like he is going to be into helping with his baby sister. We catch him playing big brother and yelling at his animals who are "being mean to his sister"! He has been pushing the stroller around and taking her for walks and talks about her constantly. Now I know, this could all come crashing down Monday afternoon, but for now....let us live in our fantasy land!

Here are some of some pictures of our big man!

Catch up...big time!

So I started this blog several summers ago to capture all the memories of our little family. I was doing so good, and then life happened! As you can see, the last time I posted was August. Eeeek! I had the best of intentions of blogging a picture each week of my growing belly and how I was feeling. Well, the last week that made it on the blog was week 17. On Monday, I am going to hit week 39. Yea, I'd say I'd missed a few. Second child syndrome, or did life just happen? We got busy....that's what I'm going to tell myself!

Regardless, I still want to get down everything about this second pregnancy so I have the memories. I have been taking my picture next to board weekly, just haven't been posting. I promised my mom I'd let people see the pictures, so I'll post a few so you can watch the tummy grow! And boy does it grow!

Here are a few highlights from this pregnancy:
- We found out we were pregnant in May of 2013
- I was sicker than a dog all summer long...yea that was fun with a  3 year old running around and our basement was being finished
- Morning sickness....more like any time of the day sickness. I'm talking pull the car over to the side of the road to throw up and your 3 year old in the back seat tell you "That's yucky!" type of sickness
- I had such bad nausea that I had to take anti-nausea medicine to get dinner in my system at night
- Once the end of August hit, my sickness was gone! Just in time to go back to work.
- Being pregnant in the summer was hard. Worth it for a sweet baby, but nonetheless, hard! I was sober for concerts, pool dates, lake trips.....but I still went!
- It was certainly a busy fall too! 3 of our best friends got married and we had season tickets to the Mizzou Football games. Let's just say Dan totally enjoyed all his sober rides:)
- In August, we found out that our sweet baby was a GIRL!!!! One of each, we are in heaven!
- In October, I failed my glucose test....of course! I had to go in for the 3 hour test and drug Dan along to entertain me! He was just thrilled to sit in a doctors office for 3 hours with me:)
- I continued to work through Christmas Break. Doctor said I didn't have to go back after break!! Today would have been their first day back, but we got a snow day! Yay! One more maternity day for later!
- At my 36 week check up, I was already dialated to 2 cm!
- At my 37 week check up, I was dialated to 3 cm and 50% effaced!
- Sadly, at my 38 week check up, I was still the same. So, we scheduled an induction! It will be Monday, January 6th at 1pm! I am counting down the days and hours!
- With this pregnancy, I've had a lot of back pain. She's all out front (which I'm not complaining about) but it makes it hard to sleep! And the clothing situation is getting sketchy! Not much is covering this belly anymore!
- Oh and the swelling....oh the swelling. I am down to 3 pairs of shoes I can get on these sausages! One of which is a pair of slippers!! EEEK!

Every single minute of all of this will be worth it when we meet our baby girl! We seriously, all 3 of us, can't wait for her to get here!!

Here are a few pictures of my growing belly!
